Hyderabad House

Our place is located in Peejay Plaza over in Siripuram, right across from the IDBI Bank and the Tycon Hotel. If you know Visakhapatnam, you know this part of town gets a lot of people moving through it all day long. We started Hyderabad House here because there was a good spot available at 10-1-44/4. It’s not a huge place, but it keeps us busy from morning until late at night. The staff usually arrives when the air is still a bit cool before the humidity kicks in from the coast. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen just getting the basics ready. There is no magic to it, just a lot of stirring and watching the flame. Being opposite the bank means we see the same faces every day, people rushing in for a quick bite or picking something up on their way home. The noise from the street is always there, but you get used to it after a week or two. Sometimes the delivery bikes take up too much space out front, and we have to go out and move them so people can walk on the sidewalk. It’s just how it is running a business in a busy area like Siripuram. We keep the floors scrubbed and the tables wiped down, trying to stay ahead of the lunch rush. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do to keep things going. We aren't doing anything fancy, just cooking and cleaning.
