D R R Vari Vantillu Family Restaurant

Down in Sriharipuram, life moves pretty fast on the main road. We started D R R Vari Vantillu Family Restaurant because we wanted a place where families in Visakhapatnam could just sit and eat without it being a whole big deal. The kitchen is almost always loud. There’s the sound of chopping, the stove clicking, and someone always shouting an order. It’s not a quiet place by any means. We’ve got the regular crowd from the neighborhood who come in for lunch because they don't want to cook at home in the heat. Being on the main road means we get a lot of people passing through too. We try to keep the tables clean, but when it’s busy, it’s hard to keep up with every single crumb. We handle a lot of rice dishes and the usual stuff you’d expect around here. Some days the fish is better than others, depending on what we can get from the market that morning. We don't have a big corporate team, it's just a few of us making sure the food is ready and the water glasses are full. Sometimes the spice levels are a bit high for some, but that’s how we like it. It’s a basic setup, chairs and tables and a menu that doesn’t change much. We just keep the doors open and do our work day after day, year after year, serving the local community.
