Devanga Arts College

Devanga Arts College is located right in the middle of the Aruppukottai Bazar area in Virudhunagar. It is a very lively and busy place to be situated. Being in the heart of the bazar means there is always a lot of noise from the nearby shops and the people passing by on the street. Our students seem to get used to the background noise pretty quickly. We focus mainly on arts subjects here. The building is not very large, but we make sure to use every single corner we have available. Tamil Nadu can get quite warm during the day, so we all appreciate it when a breeze comes through the open windows. Most of our staff members have been working here for many years. We know the local shopkeepers and the people who run the stalls nearby. It has a real community feel to it. The students come from the surrounding villages and the town itself to attend classes. They carry their bags, sit in the lecture halls, and spend their free time in the library when it is not too crowded. We do not bother with big flashy advertisements or anything like that. People in the area just know where we are. The corridors are usually filled with the sound of students chatting between their classes. We have the usual office work and exams to deal with throughout the year. It just goes on like that.
