It is a local neighborhood where everyone kind of knows everyone else. Our building isn't very big, and it looks just like the other ones on the street. We don't have any big neon signs or anything like that. Inside, it is just a simple workspace with a few rooms and a lot of ledgers. Sjcl is a small operation, and we like keeping it that way. Most of us live nearby, so it’s just a short walk or a quick ride on the scooter to get here in the morning. Aruppukottai is a quiet town, and Perumal Naicker Street is usually pretty calm except for when the school nearby lets out. The office stays pretty cool because of the old thick walls, but we still use the ceiling fans most of the day. We spend a lot of time checking numbers and making sure our records are correct. There isn't any corporate talk here; we just speak normally and get the job done. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps during our lunch break to watch the street. It’s a very ordinary place to work, but we are proud of the work we do. It’s just a honest, local business that has been part of this community for years. We don't plan on changing anything soon.
