Viveka School

Viveka School is located in Arakandanallur, which is in the Villupuram district. If you are coming from the main town area, it takes a little bit of time to reach us. The school sits in a spot that feels a bit more open than the city center. We have a gate that opens early in the morning for the staff. Most of the people working here are from the local villages nearby. The classrooms are basic and have everything we need, like blackboards and benches. We do not use any complicated technology; just books and talk. During the summer, it gets quite hot, so the shade of the trees outside is where everyone wants to be. The kids play out there when they have their break time. We hear a lot of laughter and shouting then. Our day ends when the bell rings and the buses come to pick up the children who live further away. It is a simple routine that we follow day after day. There is always a bit of dust on the windows because of the road, but we try to keep things as tidy as we can. The office handles all the fees and the paperwork for the government. We do not have any big slogans on the walls. It is just a school where children come to learn their lessons. Everyone knows each other and we just try to do our bit for the community here.
