About K C P Siddhartha Adarsh Residential Public Sc – Education in Vijayawada
Out here in Kanuru, we run this residential school where many of the kids stay with us throughout the term. It’s a different kind of life than a day school. We are responsible for them all day and night, so the atmosphere is a bit like a large, messy family. The grounds are quite extensive, which is necessary since the students live here. We have the dorms on one side and the classrooms on the other. It’s not a five-star hotel; it’s a school with bunk beds and communal dining halls. The food is basic but keeps everyone going. We have been in Kanuru for years, and most people in the local area know us as a landmark. The buildings are functional and built to last, though they need constant maintenance. There’s always a tap leaking or a lightbulb that needs changing somewhere. We don't try to sound like a big corporation because we aren't one. We’re just a group of teachers and wardens trying to make sure these kids grow up with some discipline and a decent education. The days start early here with a lot of routine. It’s a practical way of living and learning. We don't use much flowery language to describe it. It’s just hard work and keeping an eye on a few hundred teenagers. Sometimes it's exhausting, but we just get on with it because it’s what we do. Everyone here knows the routine by heart and we just stick to it.
