Jaypee Cement

The Chunar Cement Factory is where everything happens for us. It’s a massive site, and if you work here at Jaypee Cement, you get used to the noise and the constant movement of heavy machinery. My boots are never clean, no matter how much I brush them off before going home. Working at a factory like this means you see the whole process, from the raw stuff coming in to the sealed bags going out on the big lorries. We don’t really do the whole corporate office thing here because there’s too much real work to do on the ground. It gets really hot in the summer months, and the wind blows the dust everywhere, but we have a good routine going. Most of us have been here for years, so we know the layout of the place like the back of our hands. Dealing with the supply side means a lot of checking and re-checking the counts. If a truck is late, we hear about it. If the weather turns bad, we have to move fast to keep everything dry. Chunar is a quiet place otherwise, but this factory stays loud. We just focus on keeping the machines running and making sure the loading stays on schedule. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do. No one here really cares about fancy titles; we just want to get the job done and get home for dinner.
