National School

Our school is located on Sindgi Road in the Yogapur area of Vijayapura, which most people still call Bijapur. It’s a busy road, but we are set back a little bit so it's okay for the students. We’ve been here for a good while, serving the families in this part of town. The building is a standard two-story structure with classrooms that get quite a bit of sun. We don't have many frills here. There are desks, chairs, and whiteboards, and that’s about it. The teachers are local people who care about the neighborhood and the kids. We follow the regular curriculum and try to make sure every student gets some attention, though it’s hard when the classes are full and the day is short. The playground is just a flat patch of ground where the kids play or just run around during lunch. We don’t have a big staff, so everyone chips in with the cleaning and the organization. It’s a bit of a scramble sometimes, especially when there’s a local festival or a holiday coming up. We keep our records in a small office that's usually cluttered with books and registers. It’s a plain, hardworking school. We aren't trying to be the most famous place in Karnataka, just a reliable spot for the kids in Yogapur to get their education and grow up. It’s what we do every day and we are used to the rhythm.
