Vaishnu Steel Works

Our place, Vaishnu Steel Works, is at B.O. 1901 in Maharaj Nagar. We are on Street No. 4, which is not too far from the Circuit House. If you know the area, it is easy to find us once you get off the main road. The workshop is usually filled with the sound of grinding and welding sparks. There is always a pile of steel rods or plates waiting to be cut or joined together. It is a dusty job, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the day. The street outside is fairly narrow, so when a delivery truck comes, things get a bit tight. We have been here in Maharaj Nagar for a good bit now. Most days are spent measuring out metal or fixing gates and grills. It is heavy work and takes a toll on the hands, but it is what we do. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. People just walk right into the workspace to talk about what they need. Sometimes the electricity acts up, which can be a real pain when you have a lot of welding left to do. We just keep our tools organized as best as we can, though it never stays that way for long. The neighborhood is mostly residential around Street No. 4, so we try not to make too much noise too late in the evening.
