Sliming Hair Cervice & Beauty Service

We are over in Sant Rakhubar Nagar Colony, which is in the Sigra part of Varanasi. If you know where the Hotek Sarine is, we are right near there. The name on the sign says Sliming Hair Cervice & Beauty Service, and yes, we know there’s a little misspelling there, but it’s been that way for a bit. Varanasi is a crowded place, and Sigra is no different. Our shop is tucked into the colony where things are a little quieter than the main ghats but still pretty active. We spend our days doing hair and helping people feel a bit better about how they look. The room is filled with the smell of shampoo and hair spray. We have a few mirrors that catch the light coming in from the street. It’s 221010, a place where everyone seems to know everyone else’s business. We have some old magazines on the table for people to look at, and the ceiling fan hums all day long to keep the air moving. It’s not a fancy place with marble floors, just a practical setup for the work we do. We sweep up the hair after every person, and sometimes we sit outside on a stool when it’s slow. The street outside has cows passing by and the constant sound of rickshaws. We have a small sink in the back that we use for washing hair, and it gurgles every time the water drains. It’s just our little corner.
