Metal Craft

Our workshop is located in Basant Nagar, which is part of the Singh Nagar area. We are right near the Shiv Mandir, so you can often hear the bells from the temple during the day. We do a lot of metal work here, so there is always the sound of cutting, grinding, or hammering coming from our shop. It is a noisy place to work, but we are used to it by now. The floor is always covered in small bits of metal and some grease, no matter how much we try to clean it up at the end of the day. It is a real working environment, not a showroom. We have a few benches where we do all our fabrication and repairs. Most of the people who come to us are locals from the neighborhood who need something fixed or made specifically for them. We don't have any fancy computers or machines; we mostly just use our hands and some old tools that have been with us for years. My partner and I have been doing this for a long time, and we learned the trade from our elders. We don't use any complicated words to describe what we do. We just work with metal and try to do a solid job for anyone who walks through the door. The shop gets quite hot in the summer, but we keep the big doors open to let the breeze in. It is a simple, honest way to spend our days.
