Madhuvankisan Organic Producer Company Limited is situated in Village Kanaila Khas. That is in the Post Kanaila area, under Block Bahadurpur. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren’t from the district. The office is really just a part of the village life. We handle the organic side of things for the farmers around here. It gets very busy when the planting starts. You can usually find someone at the office during the day, though we might be out in the fields too. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything like that. Most of our communication is just word of mouth between neighbors. The building itself is simple and fits in with the rest of the village. We have some files and some basic equipment to keep track of the organic certification and the farmer lists. It’s a lot of manual record-keeping. Sometimes the internet is a bit slow which makes things take longer than they should. But we are used to that. We just sit out on the porch when it's nice and talk through the plans for the next season. Being in Kanaila Khas means we are right in the middle of where the work happens. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't have fancy brochures to hand out. If someone wants to know what we do, they just come and ask us directly. It’s easier that way.
