Green Village Farmers Producer Companylimited

We are over in Varanasi, right in the Church Mission Compound at Sigra. If you know the area, you know it gets quite crowded with the traffic and the markets nearby. Green Village Farmers Producer Companylimited is based out of a small space here. It’s an interesting spot for a farming group because we are in the middle of the city, but our roots are definitely out in the dirt. We spend our days coordinating with people from the surrounding villages. It gets pretty loud outside with the horns and the people, but inside the compound, it’s a bit quieter. We deal with all sorts of things related to the farms. Some days it’s about sourcing, other days it’s just paperwork. We aren't a big office with suits; we are usually just in our regular clothes, drinking tea and trying to get things sorted. Varanasi is a place that never really sleeps, and our work feels a bit like that too. There is always someone coming by with a question about their harvest or looking for a bit of help with their registration. We don’t have any polished speeches or flashy brochures. We just do the work that needs doing. Sometimes we have to wait for the rain to stop before we can get anything moved. We just take it as it comes. It’s a group effort, and everybody contributes what they can. Being near the church mission gives us a steady landmark.
