Gory Buety Parlar

If you walk down toward the Sabjy Mandi in Bhojubeer you will find us tucked away near the Union Bank. The name on the board says Gory Buety Parlar and that’s what everyone calls it. It’s a busy spot because the vegetable market is right there so there is always a lot of noise and people carrying bags of potatoes and onions. Our shop isn't very large but we made enough room for a couple of chairs and a bench for people to wait. We see a lot of women from the Varanasi area who come in after they finish their daily shopping at the mandi. They look a bit tired sometimes so they sit for a while. We have some posters on the wall from years ago and the mirrors have a few spots on them but they work fine. The floor is tiled and we try to keep it clean but with all the dust from the street it’s a constant job. There’s a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit when it’s on high speed but it keeps the heat away during the summer months. We don't do anything complicated here. It’s just a place where you can get your hair done or some threading without any fuss. The neighbors from the bank often come by to say hello. It's just a simple routine every day in this part of town and we have been doing it for years.
