Dream India School-Pishachmochan

This school is located in the Pishachmochan area of Varanasi, which is a very old and crowded part of the city. We are specifically at C-20-1 Ramakant Nagar. If you know the area, we are right opposite the Detraveer Baba Mandir. It’s a busy neighborhood with lots of narrow lanes and people moving about constantly. Being near the temple means there’s always some sound of bells or people chanting in the background. The school itself is a compact building because space is tight in this part of Varanasi. I spend most of my day in the small office near the entrance. We have to be very organized with the space we have. The classrooms are filled with the sound of kids reciting their lessons. It can get quite loud when the classes change over. Because we are right in the middle of the city, we don’t have a massive sprawling field, but the kids find ways to play in the courtyard. The heat in the 221001 area during May is no joke, so we keep the water tanks filled and the fans going. It’s a very grounded, local school. We know the neighbors and the shopkeepers nearby. It’s a bit chaotic sometimes with the traffic outside the temple, but we’ve all gotten used to it over the years. We just focus on getting through the syllabus and keeping things orderly. It’s a tight-knit place where everyone knows everyone else.
