Shanti Shiksha Niketan Inter College

Shanti Shiksha Niketan Inter College is tucked away in Ayar. Being in the Varanasi area means we get a lot of local families coming through here. It is an Inter College, so we have the older students. The building has been around for some time now. It has got that look of a place that sees a lot of use every single day. We don’t have any of those shiny brochures or big signs outside. Mostly, people just hear about us from their neighbors. It is a bit of a walk for some students, but they make it every morning. The classrooms are basic. We have benches and blackboards, and that's about it. In the summers, it gets quite hot, and we do what we can with the ceiling fans. During the rainy season, the yard gets a bit muddy. We just keep moving along. The staff here live nearby in Ayar or other parts of Varanasi. We know most of the families by name. It is not some huge corporate entity. It’s just a school for the kids around here who need a place to study. We handle the paperwork and the exams. It can be stressful during the board season, but we manage. Sometimes the gate squeaks or a window won't shut right. We just fix it when we have the time. It's a busy place but it's home to us. We’ve been at this for years now in the 221202 area.
