St Catherine International School

St Catherine International School is tucked away in Mughalsarai, which is a place most people know because of the big railway junction in Varanasi. Our school is a bit of a walk from the main tracks, but you can still feel that busy energy of the city. The building itself is pretty solid and has been here through many seasons. We have a lot of rooms to look after and the corridors always seem to need another sweep because of the dust coming off the Varanasi roads. It is not the kind of place with shiny glass walls; it is more about concrete and bricks that stay cool when the sun is beating down outside. We show up early to unlock the main doors and get the water coolers filled up for the day. Mughalsarai can be quite a noisy place, so there is always the sound of rickshaws and people talking outside the walls. We have a small staff and we all know each other well, so we just handle the daily chores like fixing the lights or clearing out the old cupboards without making a big deal out of it. The 221001 area is crowded and lively, and our school fits right into that. We focus on the basics like having enough benches for everyone and keeping the blackboards clean. It is just a practical, everyday school that has been part of the local landscape for a long time.
