Bahu Beti Beauty Parlour

If you’re heading towards the Durga Temple in Varanasi, you’ll likely pass us. Bahu Beti Beauty Parlour is located right in Hukulganj on Kachari Road. Chaukaghat is a busy part of the city, and being near the temple means there is always a lot of energy around. Varanasi is an old city, and our shop feels like it fits right in. It isn't a modern glass building; it’s a practical space where we can do our work. People come in from all over the neighborhood. We get a lot of mothers and daughters, which I guess makes sense given our name. The Kachari Road area can be a bit of a maze if you do not live here, but for us, it’s just home. We spend most of our day here, listening to the bells from the temple and the sounds of the rickshaws passing by. Sometimes we have tea with the shop owners next door when things are slow. We do not have a website or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that people know where we are. The shop is small, but we keep everything in its place. It gets a bit crowded on Saturdays, but we manage. It’s just a normal day-to-day business. We like the tradition of the area and being so close to such a significant temple. It keeps us grounded and connected to the people who live on this side of town.
