Hindustan Chemical Corporation

We operate out of 3/20 in the GIDC area of Sarigam, near Bhilad. It’s a big industrial zone, so there are always trucks and workers moving around. Our place is basically a large warehouse where we handle various chemical products. It’s not very pretty to look at, just concrete floors and high metal shelves. We spend the day checking labels and moving barrels around with the trolley. The heat can get pretty bad inside during the summer months, but that’s just part of working in an industrial park. We have a small office in the front where we keep all the paperwork in old filing cabinets. It’s a straightforward business. We supply things that other factories nearby use for their own manufacturing. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, just trying to keep the supplies flowing. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic on the main road, and we just have to sit and wait. It’s a bit dusty and the noise from the neighboring units never really stops. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the other guys on this block. It’s just us doing our part in the industrial cycle. I usually bring my lunch from home and eat it at my desk while listening to the radio. It's a bit of a trek to get here every morning, but the work is steady.
