S. B. Chemicals

S. B. Chemicals is tucked away in Lane 52 of Phase 4 in the GIDC Industrial Estate. Finding Plot No. 5003 is easy enough once you get into the rhythm of the industrial area. The lane is usually crowded with trucks and delivery tempos trying to navigate the tight turns. Inside our gates, the space is mostly filled with barrels and mixing equipment. It is a noisy place, especially when the pumps are running full tilt to move liquids from the storage vats. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a reception area with plants. It’s just a plain desk near the entrance where the invoices get signed and the logbooks stay open. The floors are concrete and they’ve seen a lot of wear over the years from the heavy movement. Most of the staff has been together for a long time, so we don't need to say much to know what needs doing next. Lunch is usually a quick affair in the small break room or just sitting on the crates outside if the weather is decent. There’s a lot of dust from the road and the nearby units, so cleaning is a never-ending task. We just focus on getting the chemical blends right and making sure the containers are sealed tight before they head out to the customers. It is basic, practical work that keeps the days moving along quite fast.
