Prathmik Shala -Darbadiya

Prathmik Shala -Darbadiya is a primary school located in the Olgam area of Valsad. We have been here for the local children for quite some years. It is a quiet place out in Darbadiya and people around here are used to the routine. The school isn't very large. We have a few rooms where the kids sit and learn their basic subjects. You won't find any big high-tech gadgets or expensive equipment here. We use blackboards and chalk mostly. The teachers come in from the nearby areas and they know the families well. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows each other’s names. During the lunch break the kids play outside in the dirt. It gets a little loud then but that’s normal for a school. We do our best to keep the building maintained but it shows its age in some spots. The roof sometimes needs a bit of work after the heavy monsoon rains we get in Valsad. We just focus on teaching the children how to read and write and do their sums. It is important for the village to have a school close by so the little ones don't have to travel too far every day. We are just a plain village school and there is nothing fancy or special about it. We open the gates every morning and the day goes by with lessons and play until it is time to go home.
