Meenakshi Chemicals

We are out here at Plot No. C-1-B-6115 in Phase IV of the G.I.D.C. in Vapi. If you’ve ever been to Vapi, you know it’s just rows and rows of different factories as far as you can see. Our place is no different from the others around us. We handle various chemicals here, mostly for the other industries located nearby. It’s a big industrial plot with a lot of storage tanks and heavy drums stacked up on pallets. The air always has that faint chemical smell to it, but you stop noticing it after you've been working here for an hour or so. We spend a lot of time making sure everything is labeled correctly and stored exactly where it belongs in the warehouse. Safety is something we have to keep an eye on constantly, so we are always checking the valves and the seals on the large containers. It’s definitely not a desk job. Most of us are out on the floor or in the loading bay for most of the shift. The trucks come in at all hours of the day, and we have to get them loaded and on their way as fast as possible. The paperwork can be a bit of a hassle sometimes with all the different forms we have to fill out, but we just get through it. We have a small room where we take our lunch breaks, away from the hum of the pumps. It’s a very practical environment. We don't get many visitors.
