We are situated at Plot No. 133/2 in the GIDC area, right on the Silvassa Road in Vapi. If you know Vapi, you know it’s one of the busiest industrial hubs around. The traffic on Silvassa Road is always a nightmare, so we all try to get here early to avoid the gridlock. Ucb India is a practical place. We have a warehouse that’s always a bit too full and an office that’s a bit too small. There’s always someone coming or going through the main gate. The air in Vapi has that distinct industrial smell, and we are right in the middle of it. We have a small garden patch near the entrance that we try to keep green, but the dust makes it hard. Inside, it’s a lot of paperwork and boxes. We deal with a lot of logistics and making sure things get to where they need to go. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking manifests. The humidity here can be brutal, so the ceiling fans are always on full blast. We have a tea man who comes by twice a day, and that’s usually the highlight for everyone. We don't have a big corporate vibe. We’re just a group of people working in a factory town, trying to get through the daily list of chores. Sometimes we stay late when a truck is delayed, but mostly we stick to the schedule and head out by six.
