Adarsh Nivasi Shala

Life at Adarsh Nivasi Shala is a bit different because it is a residential school here in Velvach. Since the kids live here, the place never really stays quiet for long. We are tucked away in the Valsad district, specifically in the 396007 area. It’s a big responsibility, looking after students all day and night. The mornings start with everyone getting ready for breakfast, and the evenings are filled with study sessions and chores. Our buildings are simple and meant for living in, so they feel a bit more lived-in than a regular day school. There are always laundry lines full of clothes and the smell of cooking from the kitchen. We spend a lot of our time managing the dorms and making sure everyone is where they should be. It’s a lot of practical work, like fixing leaky pipes in the bathrooms or making sure there are enough blankets when it gets a bit chilly at night. We don't have a lot of extra staff, so we all pitch in with whatever needs to happen. The kids are like a big family, even if they argue sometimes over who gets the last bit of food. It is a busy, noisy, and sometimes exhausting place to be, but it’s our daily reality here in Velvach. We just keep things running as smoothly as we can given the circumstances and the resources we have at hand.
