Rangoli Restaurant isn't in the middle of a big city; we are out in Lakhavadi, near Vansda in the Navsari district. It’s a local place where people stop when they are traveling through or just want a break from cooking at home. The kitchen is usually the loudest part of the building, with the sound of pans hitting the stove and the staff talking over each other. We don't have a menu with fancy descriptions. We just cook what people like to eat. The tables are simple, and we spend a lot of time wiping them down because the dust from the road always finds its way in. It’s a family-style environment, and most of us who work here grew up in the area. We aren't trying to win any awards or anything like that. We just want to serve a decent plate of food and make sure the tea is hot. Some days are slow, and we just sit around talking, and other days it feels like everyone in Navsari decided to show up at once. It can be a bit chaotic when it’s busy, and we might forget a water glass now and then, but we try to be friendly. It’s a practical, local eatery for regular people. No big secrets here, just a lot of cooking and cleaning. We hope the food is good and the guests leave full.
