Our workshop is at 11 Makarpura Baroda Co Operative Industrial Estate, which is a place that never really sleeps. If you come by, you’ll see the industrial atmosphere right away—lots of metal, grease, and the smell of cutting oil in the air. We’ve been operating out of this unit for many years now, and the floor shows the wear and tear of all that time. We have several old machines that still work perfectly fine if you know their quirks, and we spend most of our hours bent over them making parts. It gets quite hot in the summer because the tin roof traps the heat, so we have these giant industrial fans that mostly just move the warm air around. There’s a small office partitioned off with glass, but it’s usually covered in dust, so you can barely see through it. We keep our tools organized on big pegboards, though things always seem to wander off when we’re in a hurry. Most of our day is spent reading blueprints or fixing something that a customer brought in because it stopped spinning. It’s hard work and it’s loud, but there’s a certain satisfaction in finishing a job and seeing the machine run again. We aren't big on fancy talk; we just focus on the engineering tasks at hand and try to stay out of the way of the forklifts moving through the estate lanes every day.
