Suruchi Design Studio

We’ve been here in Sheetal Nagar Society for a good while now. Most days you’ll find us surrounded by rolls of fabric and sketching out new ideas on whatever paper is handy. It isn’t some fancy high-end office where you can’t touch anything. It’s a working studio. Things get messy when we are in the middle of a project. We spend a lot of time talking to folks who walk in wanting something specific for an event or just their daily wear. Sometimes the needles break and we have to pause everything to fix the machines, but that’s just how it goes. We don’t have a big team of corporate managers. It’s just us doing the work. Akota is a nice area and we like being part of the local scene here. When we started, we didn't have much, just a couple of tables and a lot of energy. Now, the shelves are pretty full. We try to keep things simple. If a customer wants a certain color or a specific fit, we see if it can be done. Not everything is perfect on the first try, but we stick with it until it looks right. The sun hits the front window in the afternoon and makes it a bit warm, so we usually have the fan going full blast. It’s a practical place for people who just want their clothes to look decent and fit well. It is just the way we like to run things here.
