Working as decorators here in Atladara 8 keeps us on our feet. We spend a lot of our time moving pipes, cloth, and heavy flower pots from one place to another. Most of the work happens outside or in big halls where weddings are going on. It is a messy job sometimes with all the tape, wires, and scraps of fabric left over on the floor. We start very early in the morning, often before the sun is even up, to get things ready for the evening events. If the wind is blowing hard, it makes setting up the tents a real struggle for the crew. We have had our share of rainy days where everything gets soaked, but we just dry it off and keep going. Our small office in Atladara is where we keep all the bookings and the samples of different colored drapes. It is a bit cluttered with rolls of carpet and old lanterns in the corners. We do not have a big team, just a few of us who know how to tie a knot properly and hang lights without them falling down. People come to us when they have a big day coming up. We listen to what they want and try to make it happen with what we have in the warehouse. It is hard work on the back and the hands, but seeing the lights turn on at night is okay.
