Shashikanth Architects

Our spot for Shashikanth Architects is over in Fatehgunj, specifically in the Chinch Bandar area. It is a place that feels very lived-in. The office isn't anything you would see in a magazine, just a practical room with some sturdy tables and enough chairs for whoever drops by. Being near the port area means you hear a lot of trucks and the general hum of commerce all day long. We spend most of our time looking at maps and structural layouts. Usually, one of us handles the main drawings while the others check on the small details. The walls have some old project photos tacked up, but they are mostly there to cover some peeling paint. We do not really go for anything flashy here. Usually, someone brings in snacks from the local market around noon. It can get pretty warm in the afternoons, so the ceiling fans are always humming. We deal with a lot of different people, from contractors to folks just wanting to fix up a small shed or a back room. It is a lot of back and forth, making sure the measurements fit the reality of the ground. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down over the harbor. Sometimes we lose track of time when we are trying to fix a stubborn layout. It is a quiet life of drawing and planning in a loud part of the world.
