Subham Steel

We're located at number 10 near the Macchi Market in Alkapuri. It’s an interesting spot to be in, definitely not quiet with the market right there. We deal with steel items, mostly stuff for homes or small construction bits that people need. We have rods, sheets, and some hardware piled up. The shop smells like metal and sometimes it’s a bit messy with scraps on the floor. We try to keep it swept but it’s hard when you’re moving heavy things around all day. People come to us when they need something specific cut or if they’re building a small shed or fixing a metal gate. We use a big saw for the cutting and it makes a lot of noise. We’ve been in Alkapuri for a long time. The market area is always crowded, especially in the mornings when everyone is out. We don't have a fancy showroom at all. You just walk in and tell us what you're looking for. My father started this and now I'm here doing the same thing. We don't use computers much, just a big paper book for the accounts and a calculator that’s missing a button. It’s honest work and we stay busy enough to keep the lights on. Sometimes the delivery truck gets stuck in the narrow street, which is a headache. But that's just part of being in this location. We stay until about seven every evening.
