You can find our workshop at E-16 on Road No. 1 in Sardar Estate. We’re right next to Shivshakti Chemicals and just behind the Super Bakery. You can usually smell the bread from the bakery in the morning, which is better than the chemical smells from the other side. Our place is a metal shop, so it’s loud, hot, and there are sparks flying pretty much all day. We have various machines for cutting and welding tucked into different corners of the shed. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when we have a lot of raw material delivered. We started out with just a couple of hand tools, but we’ve picked up more equipment over the years. The floor is concrete and always has some metal shavings on it, no matter how often we sweep. We don't have a proper office, just a small desk in the corner where we keep the invoices and a calculator. It’s dusty and the chair squeaks, but it serves its purpose. Most of our work comes from people nearby who need something fixed or fabricated. We don't do any big marketing. Word of mouth usually keeps us busy enough. Sometimes we work late into the night if a job is urgent. It’s hard work, and we usually go home covered in grease and dirt. But it’s what we know how to do. The radio usually plays local stations to drown out the hammering.
