Shri Ram Masala

You can find us at 500 Satyam Apartment, which is right on the IPCL Road in Gorwa. It’s a pretty busy stretch of road, especially near the ITI. Shri Ram Masala has been operating out of this apartment space for some time now. When you walk into the building, you can usually smell the spices before you even get to our door. It’s a strong scent, mostly cumin and coriander, and it sticks to everything. We have a couple of rooms filled with containers and some small machines for grinding and packing. It gets a bit cramped when we have a big batch of stuff to move out. The apartment wasn't really built for this, so we have to be clever about where we put things. The neighbors are used to us by now, though I think they can hear the machines sometimes. We start pretty early in the morning before the heat gets too bad. Gorwa is a dusty place because of all the trucks on the IPCL road, so we are always cleaning the counters. We don't have a fancy storefront. It’s just us and the masala. Sometimes the delivery guys get confused because the apartment numbers are a bit mixed up in this block. We just tell them to look for the sign near the entrance. It’s hard work, and your hands are always stained with some kind of spice, but it’s what we do. We just focus on the orders we have for the day and get them done.
