Shree Rajkamal Masala

At Shree Rajkamal Masala, we spend most of our time on MM Road in Vadodara. It’s a busy street and there is always noise from the traffic outside. The shop isn’t very big, but we have enough space for the machines and the sacks of spices that come in every week. When you walk in, the smell of turmeric and coriander hits you pretty hard. It’s just something we are used to after all these years. We spend the mornings cleaning the equipment and making sure the jars are full. Some days are busier than others, especially when the local families come in to stock up their kitchens. We don’t have a big team or anything, just a few of us who know how the machines work and how to pack things properly so they don't leak. The floor gets a bit stained from the colors of the powders, but that’s just how a spice place looks. We keep the doors open to let some air in, though it doesn't help much when the sun is beating down on the road. We’ve been at this Vadodara location for a while now and most people around MM Road know where we are. We just focus on getting the grinding done and making sure the weights are right on the scale. There’s nothing fancy about how we work; we just show up and do the job every day and try to keep things moving along steadily.
