Shree Mumma Devi Steel Art

I spend most of my day here at Shree Mumma Devi Steel Art. We are tucked inside Rameshwari Shopping Centre on Ajwa Road. If you know Vinay Society, we are right beside it. It’s a busy spot. Most mornings start with the sound of metal moving around. Steel is heavy and hard to work with, but that’s what we do here. The shop isn't fancy at all. There’s usually some dust and the smell of welding in the air. People stop by when they need something made or fixed. Sometimes the traffic on Ajwa Road gets really loud, especially in the evenings when everyone is heading home. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. It’s a bit cramped with all the materials lying around on the floor, but we know where everything is. My hands are usually dirty by noon from handling the raw steel. We don’t have a big office or anything, just the workspace and a few plastic chairs for when someone needs to sit down and talk about a project. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. Sometimes it gets very hot in the summer because of the machines and the metal heating up. But we just keep at it and get the jobs done. The shopping center has a lot of different people coming and going. You get used to the rhythm of the place. It’s just how things go at our shop. I usually have my tea from the stall nearby around four and then get back to it.
