Sheel Cast Corporation

Out here in the GIDC Estate in Makarpura, things are always moving. Our place, Sheel Cast Corporation, is located on Road 1 933 within the Imtex Estate area. It’s an industrial zone, so the air usually smells like hot metal and machinery oil. Years of use have scuffed up the thick concrete workshop floor. We do a lot of casting work, which means it gets very hot near the furnaces. There’s no avoiding the grime and the soot when you’re working with molten metal and sand molds. It’s loud, too, with the sound of blowers and the clanking of heavy tools. We don’t have a fancy office; it’s just a small room with a desk and some old chairs where we keep the ledgers and handle the paperwork. Checking the molds or making sure the pours are going okay takes up most of our time out on the floor. The trucks come in and out all day long, dropping off scrap or picking up the finished parts. It’s hard work and your back definitely feels it by the end of the shift. We’ve been in this spot for a while and we know the neighbors in the other units pretty well. It’s just a regular factory life, dealing with the heat and the production schedules every single day. We don’t put on any acts here, just get the work done. It isn't glamorous, but it’s what we do.
