Sharad Shah

I work out of Alkapuri, specifically in office 705 of the Bhagyoday Tower-2 building. Being up on the seventh floor provides a decent view of the other rooftops, which is a nice distraction when my eyes get tired of the computer screen. The office isn't particularly large, just enough space for my desk, some filing cabinets, and a couple of chairs for anyone who stops by. I have been working as Sharad Shah in this spot for several years. Generally, the building stays quiet, which is exactly how I prefer it. There are no fancy carpets or expensive paintings on these walls because this is a workspace, plain and simple. Most of my day is spent on the telephone or typing out notes and keeping everything in order. The elevator in Bhagyoday Tower-2 can be a bit slow during the morning rush, so I often end up taking the stairs if I'm in a hurry. Alkapuri is a bustling part of the city, so stepping outside means immediately joining the noise and the crowds again. But inside 705, it is just me getting on with the daily responsibilities. I don't employ a big staff, preferring to run a straightforward operation on my own. It is a simple way to manage things—staying focused on the work right in front of me and not worrying about much else. Sometimes I watch the rain hit the glass when the monsoon clouds roll in or listen to the distant hum of the city.
