Shakil Ahmed Nakum

You can find me right on M G Road in Vadodara. It’s a very busy street, but we are tucked in near the Kasmahala Masjid, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find the shop. I’ve been in this area for a long time. People around here know me, and I know most of the faces that walk past the window every day. The noise from the road can be a lot sometimes, especially during the afternoon rush, but it’s just part of life here. I like being close to the Masjid because it gives a sense of community to the whole block. My workspace isn’t very large. It’s mostly just enough room for me to handle the work I have coming in. I didn't want a big corporate office because that's not how I operate. I prefer being where the action is, right on the main road. I keep a few chairs for visitors, but mostly I'm on my feet or working at the bench. When things get quiet, I step outside just to see what's happening on the street. M G Road always has something going on. I’ve seen businesses come and go, but I’ve managed to stay put by keeping things simple and treating people right. If you’re walking by the Masjid, you’ll see my place just a few doors down. It’s nothing fancy, just a local spot where work gets done.
