Salmal Steel Suppliers has been running out of our spot infront of Narayan for some time now. We are tucked into Umaraya Village which is part of Padra Taluka. If you know the area, you know it gets quite busy around here with all the local movement and people passing through. Our day usually starts pretty early when the first trucks show up with loads of steel. We spend most of our hours moving heavy metal around and making sure things are where they need to be for whoever is coming to pick them up. It is not a quiet place because of all the clanging and the machinery running. The yard is mostly dirt and gravel so it gets dusty when the wind picks up or when a big vehicle pulls in. We have a small office space where we keep our papers and sit down for a bit of tea when it is quiet. Most of the guys working here live nearby in the village so we all know each other well. It is just a normal local business doing what we can with the steel trade. We do not have any big fancy signs or anything like that. Just the name on the front and the stacks of metal out back. Sometimes the rain makes things a bit slow and we have to cover everything up so it does not get ruined. We just take it day by day here in Padra Taluka.
