Roys Masala

Roys Masala is located at Shop No. 64 inside Ganesh Square in the GIDC Industrial Estate. It’s a busy area with a lot of small industries and shops all packed together in one place. Spices are our main focus, mostly grinding and packing them right here in the shop. You can usually smell the roasted seeds and powders from down the hallway before you even see the door. Our space is compact, so staying organized with our sacks of raw ingredients is very important. Most of our hours are spent at the machines or sealing the plastic pouches for sale. The industrial estate has a lot of energy, and there’s always something going on right outside our door. We’ve been at Ganesh Square for a while now and have a routine that works for us. A fancy showroom with lights isn't what we have; it’s a place where real work gets done. Often, we have tea with the guys from the neighboring shops when things quiet down in the late afternoon. Sometimes the machinery breaks down and we have to fix it ourselves with whatever tools are handy, which can be frustrating but it’s part of the trade. No big words are used to describe what we do here. We just buy the best spices we can find and process them carefully for the people who buy from us. It’s a simple business model that has kept us going for years. Being a part of the local GIDC community makes us happy.
