At Royal Spice, the smell of ground pepper and cumin is something you never really lose. We are set up at FF-48 along the Vadodara Nana Chiloda Himmat Nagar Highway. It’s a busy spot because of all the highway traffic, and we get people stopping in from all over while they are traveling. The shop isn't huge, but we pack a lot into the shelves. Most days are spent weighing out portions and sealing up bags for the customers. We have to be careful with the storage so everything stays fresh and the damp doesn't get in. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we like the pace of it. Sometimes the dust from the spices makes us sneeze, especially when we are opening a new shipment of chili powder. If the wind is blowing the right way, you can smell the coriander from halfway down the street. The highway outside is always loud with horns and engines, but inside it’s a bit quieter. We have a small counter where we handle the cash and talk to the regulars who live in the nearby villages. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us making sure everything is stocked up. We’ve been at this FF-48 location for a while now. It’s a practical setup. We don't spend money on decorations or anything like that. We just make sure the scales are accurate and the bags are tied tight before they leave the shop. It’s just a normal day-to-day business for us here on the highway.
