Rajendra Steel

Our yard is located on Dabhoi Road in the Pratapnagar area. If you’re looking for Rajendra Steel, just look for Zenith School; we’re right across the street from there. It’s a noisy spot, especially when the school gets out and the kids are everywhere on the road. We deal with a lot of heavy metal, beams, and rods, so there’s always the sound of steel clanging against steel. It’s not a clean job, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift with all the rust and grease. We’ve got a big open space for the inventory and a small shack that serves as our office. We spend most of our time outside moving things around with the crane or by hand. The weather can be tough, either too hot or too rainy, but the work doesn't stop for a bit of water. We have a few regular customers who come by for their construction needs. We don't really do much in the way of promotion or advertising. People just know we are here on Dabhoi Road. We try to keep the stacks of steel somewhat organized so we can find things quickly when a truck arrives. It’s a straightforward business. We weigh the steel, load it up, and that’s about it. There’s a lot of dust from the road, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the truck drivers by name. It’s a decent living and we keep ourselves to ourselves.
