Our place is at Plot No-34 in the Gidc area of Manjusar. Being near the Bsnl Exchange makes it easy for people to find Radiant Engineering Private Limited, though the streets in the industrial estate all look the same after a while. We have been here for a good bit of time, dealing with all the engineering parts and pieces that come through the door. The air inside always smells like machine oil and coolant. It is a practical kind of place where we focus on the lathes and the milling machines rather than anything else. There is a lot of measuring and double-checking involved in what we do. The staff mostly comes from around the Manjusar area, so we have a good group that knows how everything works. Lunch breaks are usually spent under the shade outside because it gets stuffy indoors. We do not have any shiny displays, just rows of parts and the sound of metal being worked on. It is steady work that requires a lot of patience. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we spend the whole afternoon getting it back up and running. That is just part of the job here. We stay until the work is finished, usually locking up when the streetlights in the Gidc start coming on. Most of us have been working together for years, so we don't need to say much to get the day started and keep everything on track.
