Our workshop for Pratik Transformers Pvt Ltd is out in the Manjusar Savli Industrial Estate. Being in the Savli area means we are surrounded by a lot of other industrial plants, which suits us just fine. We build and fix transformers, which is heavy and sometimes messy work. There is always the smell of oil and metal in the air. We aren't a corporate giant with a glass building. Our space is filled with coils, copper, and big steel tanks. It gets pretty loud when the cranes are moving things around. We have a bunch of guys who have been winding coils for most of their lives. They don't say much, but they know their craft. We take things one day at a time here. If a transformer comes in for repair, we strip it down and see what’s wrong without making a big deal out of it. We don't use a lot of fancy jargon when we talk to our clients. We just tell them what is broken and how we can fix it. The roads out here in the industrial estate can be a bit bumpy, especially in the rain, but we still get our deliveries out on time. It is a practical business. We focus on the equipment and making sure it can handle the voltage. That is all that really matters at the end of the day in this line of work. We’ve been here a long time and plan to stay.
