Om Steel Centre

Our shop, Om Steel Centre, is situated in Vadodara on 16th Main. We are quite close to the Mahadev Temple, which is where most people know to go when they are in this part of town. Working with steel in this heat can be tough, especially during the summer months when the metal gets warm to the touch. We spend our hours moving stock around and taking care of the orders that come in. It’s a lot of lifting and shifting, so we definitely get our workout for the day. The area near the temple is usually calm in the early mornings but gets crowded later on. We have a simple setup here without any extra frills. It's mostly just racks of steel and our desk where we keep the notes. Sometimes the trucks bringing in new supplies have trouble turning on the narrow parts of 16th Main. We’ve lived and worked in Vadodara for years and it feels right to be part of the local community. We drink our tea from the stall just down the road twice a day. There is no big corporate office or anything like that, just a straightforward place where we handle steel. Every day is pretty much the same routine of checking what we have and helping whoever walks through the door. It’s honest work and it keeps us going. We just focus on getting through the pile of work we have each morning. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit disorganized but we sort it out eventually.
