Mechelec Steel Products

Mechelec Steel Products is based at 3/13 in the BIDC Industrial Estate over in Gorwa. Gorwa is one of those areas that has been an industrial center for a long time, and BIDC is right in the heart of it. Our unit is just a standard industrial space. We have some heavy machinery for the steel products and a small corner where we keep the computer and the files. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the floor is scarred from years of moving heavy steel around, but it is a workplace, not a showroom. Being in an estate like BIDC means we have neighbors doing all sorts of things, from plastic molding to chemical processing. You can hear the sounds of the whole estate humming throughout the day. We usually get in early before the sun gets too high because the shed can get quite hot by noon. Most of our visitors are truck drivers or local vendors who have been coming here for years. We keep things simple and honest. There is no corporate ladder here, just a few of us making sure the products are made right and shipped out on time. The routine doesn't change much from day to day, and that is fine by us. It is a solid, practical business in an old-school industrial part of town.
