Working over at Plot No-Kv 1/2 in the Gidc Estate in Alindra is a lot of staying on your feet. Axalta Coating Systems India Pvt. Ltd. is where all the mixing happens. You walk in and you can usually smell the paint and chemicals right away. It’s a big space but it feels smaller when we have a lot of containers stacked up. The floors are rarely perfectly clean because something is always being moved or poured. We spend a lot of time checking the machines and making sure the colors look right. Alindra is a bit out of the way, but it’s where the work is. Sometimes the heat in the estate is a bit much, but we have some fans going to keep the air moving. It’s a practical setup, nothing for show. We have different sections for different parts of the coating process. Most of us just wear our work clothes and don't worry about getting a bit of dirt on them. The gate is usually open for deliveries. We don't have a big fancy office, just a place to sit and some desks near the production floor. It’s mostly about getting the drums filled and ready to go out. Every morning starts with a quick check of what needs to be shipped. It’s a lot of routine, but we stay busy.
