You have to go down Shreeji Gaslane to find us at Plot No. 685 in the Gidc Ind. Estate. We are tucked right behind the Himalaya Company which is a big landmark people use to give directions. Rajhans Powder Coating is always a hive of activity because the ovens are usually running hot. The air inside can get quite warm especially during the summer months when the breeze stops blowing through the open shutters. We have racks and racks of metal parts waiting to be sprayed and then cured. You see a lot of different colors coming through here from bright reds to the standard industrial greys. Our staff has been here for a long time and we all have our specific roles from cleaning the metal to doing the final inspection. The floor is stained with different powders and there is a thin layer of dust on everything that isn't covered up. We don't have a fancy waiting room for customers. Usually people just pull their trucks up to the loading dock and we chat while the guys unload the parts. It’s a straightforward business. We keep an eye on the clock to make sure the curing times are exactly right. Sometimes the traffic in the lane gets backed up because it’s a narrow stretch but we manage to get things moved eventually. It’s just the reality of working in this part of the estate.
