R.C. Dutt Road is always moving, and we’re right in the middle of it at Sb/17. Our place is basically a hub for stuff coming in and going out. If you walk in, you’ll likely see crates stacked near the entrance and someone checking a list on a clipboard. It’s a trading business, so it’s all about the movement of goods. We don’t have much time for sitting around. The air conditioner in the main office makes a weird rattling noise, but it keeps us cool enough during the summer months. We’ve got a couple of guys who have been here since the start, and they know where every single item is kept, even if the shelves look a bit messy to anyone else. We deal with a lot of different people every day, from truck drivers to local shop owners. It’s a lot of paperwork and making sure the counts are right. We aren't trying to be the biggest corporation out there; we just want to make sure our customers get what they ordered without a fuss. Sometimes a shipment is late, and then things get a bit stressful, but we manage. R.C. Dutt Road has changed a lot over the years, with new shops opening up all the time, but we’ve stayed pretty much the same. We like the routine of the morning delivery and the evening tally. It’s honest work and it keeps the lights on.
