Shree Roshan Metal Industries

Shree Roshan Metal Industries is right there at Plot No. 244 in the GIDC Ind. Estate. It’s a metal shop through and through. You can usually hear the sounds of grinding and cutting from the street before you even get to our front door. We’ve been working out of this particular plot for quite a while now. The space is filled with stacks of metal sheets and rods, and there’s barely enough room to walk sometimes if we’ve just had a big delivery come in. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy letters to customers. It's just us, the machines, and the metal we work with every day. The air usually has that sharp metallic tang to it, and the workers are always covered in a bit of grease or fine metal dust. We’ve got a small area where we keep the books and take orders, but most of the action happens out on the shop floor. It’s hard, honest work that doesn't really change much from one year to the next. We know the rhythms of the industrial estate—when the tea stall opens and when the traffic gets bad in the evening. We don't make any big promises, we just try to get the metal cut or shaped the way the customer asked for it. It’s a simple life. We just keep our machines running and lock the gates at night.
