Shree Ram Wood Industries

At Shree Ram Wood Industries, we are located at Plot No. 198 in the GIDC Industrial Estate. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the smell of sawdust. It’s everywhere—on the floor, on our clothes, and even in our hair by the end of the day. We have stacks of wood piled up in different sections of the plot. Some of it is raw lumber and some is already cut into specific sizes. We spend most of our time at the saw benches or using the sanders. The noise of the blades cutting through the wood is something you get used to after the first week. We have to be very careful with our hands, so we don't talk much while the machines are running. It is a physical job, lifting heavy planks and moving them from one side of the shop to the other. Our tools are well-used and have been sharpened more times than I can count. We have a small shed where we keep the finished products away from the rain. The roof leaks a little in one corner, so we have to remember not to put anything valuable under that spot when it clouds over. It’s a simple life of working with wood and making sure we get the measurements right. We stay busy from morning until the last log is cut.
